In Gastein, golf has a long tradition
Golf has been played in Gastein since 1960. First on a 9-hole course, expanded to a modern 18-hole course in 2002. The “old” holes – which are today’s 10th-18th holes – are somewhat shorter, have smaller greens and narrower fairways: having a precision game is a must! In contrast, the “new” holes – Nos. 1-9 - offer broad fairways and big greens. The three “new” Par-5’s especially (holes 3, 7 and 8) are a true challenge.
The Gastein Golf Course blends harmoniously with its surroundings, taking full advantage of the natural features. The successful interplay between hilly fairways and flat ones, between holes that slope and others that are not in the slightest bit taxing, fill this course with variety for all levels of golfing expertise.
